Antonerri, Deliverer of Dirae

Summary: Antonerri, a human male, was a guard in the Church of Three Lights. Noble and true, he lost his commission. Now he wants to clear his name and regain his status in the Church.

Backstory: The Church of Three Lights is one of the strongest factions in Twynne Rivers, next to the King himself and those on his court. Antonerri was a member of the guard of the Church, proving himself a loyal and effective soldier. When he saw a Count of the King’s court viciously beating one of his vassals, a servant of his entourage, he intervened, thinking his role in the Church’s forces was to protect the weak. The Count was furious and pulled influence with the King and the Church to have him expelled from the guard and arrested.

Story Role: The Big One

Combat Role: Tank

Quirks: Antonerri is very altruistic, but that also means that he’s very hard on himself. He resents the Church for imprisoning him, but also realizes that not every priest is self-important.

Book 1:

Antonerri begins the book emprisoned under a guard tower in the Innerwall of Twynne Rivers. He is there when DeFrantis is brought in after being arrested.

Antonerri and DeFrantis escape from the tower, pursued by Karendle. They return to the chapel in the Outerwall to find that the street children in DeFrantis’ Beggar's Bond have been sold away to slavers.

They buy passage northward on Granthurg’s barge. There is a fight on the barge as Granthurg tries to leave quickly. Antonerri helps in the fight.  The group sails to Dirae.

In Dirae, the group begins searching for the children in the slave market in the town. DeFrantis poses as a slave and Antonerri as a seller, and they see children. Karendle is also there and starts a fight. Antonerri and DeFrantis are separated as he pursues those with the children.

Antonerri, Granthurg, and Thissraelle, at a nearby monastery, figure out where the children are when DeFrantis and Karendle use a mental oculus to communicate with them. They rush to the abandoned manor house of the Barony of Westwood, where Thissraelle finds them mentally. She uses dimensional magic to open a portal to the room where DeFrantis and Karendle are fighting the acolytes and soldiers of the Dragon's Flame

Antonerri “finds his light” and uses his light powers to defeat the wizard leader in the manor. They return to the monastery Dirae with the rescued children. Antonerri declares his love for DeFrantis.

Book 2: At the start of Book 2, Antonerri and DeFrantis are living at the monastery, and they are running the orphanage there.

Thissraelle and Karendle argue and Karendle leaves the monastery to return to Twynne Rivers. As Thissraelle decides whether or not to follow her, she talks about a visit from a Champion of the Creator named St Ivarr. Antonerri tells of his own encounter with St Ivarr, and encourages her to  find Karendle and apologize.

When Thissraelle, Eddiwarth, and Granthurg leave, DeFrantis and Antonerri stay behind at the monastery to continue raising the children in the orphanage.

Later that summer, Antonerri and DeFrantis marry.
